La Nica Products, Inc. of Miami, FL is recalling six thousand pounds of cheese, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The Queso Duro Blando / Hard White Cheese (Morolique) was distributed only in the state of California through supermarkets and other retail stores.
The cheese being recalled comes in one pound opaque plastic bags (16 oz.) with the name:
Quesos De La Costa 
Queso Duro Blando
Hard Soft Cheese
The name is surrounded by an orange border and there is a small cow on the label. It is a white cheese. The cheese has an expiration date of August 31, 2017 and a UPC code of 8 52304 74023 2. The lot number of this cheese is 254.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recall is the result of sampling by the Florida Department of Agriculture which revealed that the finished products contained the bacteria.  The company has ceased the production and distribution of the product. This recall is being done with the knowledge of the FDA.

Italian Gluten Free Food CL of 1899 Bushwick Avenue, Merrick, NY 11566, is recalling its 15 ounce packages of “Chef Luca’s LASAGNA AL FORNO BAKED CHEESE LASAGNA” food because they may contain undeclared egg. People who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious or life- threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The product comes in a 15 ounce – (425 grams), Black and Goldish Yellow in color cardboard / Paper sleeve with a picture of the product and stating Chef Luca’s LASAGNA AL FORNO “Gluten Free” and “All Natural,” No Preservatives, Lower Calorie, Lower Cholesterol with a 15 ounce (425 grams) portion size marked with the following lot number(s).

The recalled “LASAGNA AL FORNO – BAKED CHEESE LASAGNA” were distributed MA, CT, NY, NJ, VA, DE, PA, MD, DC through Distributors and Retail stores: “KeHe Distributors, River Valley Foods, Wegmans, H.E.B. stores, and Uncle Giuseppe’s” retail stores.
The firm received one (1) report of Anaphylaxis has been reported on or about May 12th, 2017. Individual was treated and released.
The recall was initiated immediately upon discovering that an individual became ill. Egg containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs. Production of this product has been suspended until FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.

The Horton Fruit Co., Inc. (“Horton”) of Louisville, KY is voluntarily recalling select bags and containers of fresh spinach because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.   The company was alerted to the potential of contamination by their supplier partners, and conducting a subsequent internal investigation.  Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
There have been no reports of illness related to the recalled product and no other products produced by Horton are implicated.
The products were distributed in North Carolina, Illinois, Kentucky and West Virginia and distributed through retail stores, wholesale and foodservice distributors.  Specific information on how to identify the product is summarized below:

Green Chile Concepts, LLC is voluntarily recalling certain Green Chile Food Company brand burritos sold frozen, refrigerated and/or served hot in certain convenience stores, vending machines, and retail locations nationwide because they may have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The company has not received any complaints in relation to these products and is not aware of any illnesses 
associated with these products to date. 
 
The recall was a result of regulatory agency testing which had tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. The Company has ceased production and distribution of the affected product and is working in close cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. 
 
Green Chile Concepts, LLC is committed to ensuring all products are recalled from the market. Producing wholesome and safe food products for its customers is of utmost importance. The company has been planning for several months to move its manufacturing location which will provide much greater production capabilities and the strongest of food safety and quality programs. Manufacturing of all future products is scheduled to begin at the new location on Monday, May 15, 2017.

The Arabella Station Whole Foods Market store, located at 5600 Magazine Street in New Orleans, is voluntarily recalling packaged oatmeal chocolate chip cookies because the product contained tree nut allergens (walnuts) that were not listed on the product label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. 
 
All affected products have been removed from store shelves. The recall affected oatmeal chocolate chip cookies sold in packs of 18 with a best-by date of May 19, 2017. They can be identified by UPC code beginning with 247191. The products were sold at the Arabella Station Whole Foods Market store at 5600 Magazine Street. No other stores were affected by the recall. 
 
One allergic reaction has been reported to date.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “M-21740 or P-21740” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to institutions, retail stores and distribution centers in California, Illinois, Oregon, and South Dakota.
The problem was initially discovered by FSIS Inspection Program Personnel (IPP) during a routine Listeria monocytogenes product sample of beef and potato burrito.
There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products.
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.
Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics. Persons in the higher-risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food should seek medical care and tell the health care provider about eating the contaminated food.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

The problem was discovered when Valley Innovative Services was notified by their waffle supplier that the waffle product used in the frozen entrée products was recalled due to potential Lm contamination.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

Lamb Weston is recalling 14 ounce packages of Red Robin Burgers and Brews Crispy Onion Rings manufactured by Fry Foods and sold in grocery stores, because the product may contain an undeclared milk allergen. WASHINGTON, May 11, 2017– NY Livestock Market, Inc., a Brooklyn, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 1,495 pounds of poultry products that may be contaminated with the antibiotic nitrofurazone, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The whole young chickens were produced and packaged on April 10, 2017. The following products are subject to recall:
  • Brown shipping bags containing various quantities of 4.9-lb. young whole chickens, with head and feet intact, with “NY LIVESTOCK MARKET, INC. BUDDHIST RELIGIOUS EXEMPT (Eviscerated Poultry)” printed on the label.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-45068” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to restaurants and retail locations in New York state.
The problem was discovered through routine testing performed by FSIS inspection personnel for the National Residue Program, which revealed the sample was violative for nitrofurazone, a residue of public health concern.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or illnesses due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.  
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
